This program will close its application period on Monday, November 1, 12 noon.
The Small Business Emergency Loan Program (SBELP) II provides a forgivable loan to qualified, for-profit businesses located in the City of Miami with more than five, but no more than twenty employees.
Eligible businesses can receive up to $35,000 or 20% of their gross revenue in 2019, whichever is less, to reimburse for allowable business expenses including, but not limited to, the salaries of current employees, rent, and utility payments. NOTE: Businesses that already received financial assistance (grant, loans, etc.) from any other City of Miami COVID-19 business assistance program are not eligible for the SBELP II.
For every loan, one full-time permanent job for a low-moderate income person (80% AMI and below) must be retained for at least six months for the loan to be forgiven. If this requirement is not met, a five-year, zero interest loan will be amortized for five years with no payment required in the first 12 months.
Applicants are highly encouraged to apply via the online portal, which will be available on this web page starting July 7, 2021 12 noon. Paper applications must be reviewed for completeness first and entered by staff into the web application portal which may delay the processing of your application. Applicants will be assisted on a first-come, first-ready, first-serve basis until funds are fully expended or until the end period of funding availability, whichever occurs first. Submission of an application does not guarantee you will receive any assistance. Any documents supplied to the City of Miami, whether online or in paper format, are considered public records and will not be returned.
The City reserves the right to close this application period when it receives sufficient applications, based on available program funding. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are entered and submitted through the web portal. Once an application is assigned to staff for processing, your business may be notified, using the email address provided in your application, if any required supporting document(s) is missing and provide your business with a due date to submit the pending documentation. Failure to submit the requested document(s) on or prior to the due date will withdraw your submission. Paper applications missing more than 3 required documents will be rejected.
