Community Meetings on the Analysis of the Impediments to Fair Housing
The City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will hold two community meetings to gather City residents and housing stakeholders input towards the preparation of the City’s next Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) FY2024-2028, to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in mid-2024. The meetings will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, 5 pm, at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133, and Wednesday, December 6, 6 pm, Charles Hadley Park, Community Room, 1350 NW 50 St., Miami, FL 33142.
Residents can also provide their feedback towards the preparation of the draft AI document virtually by going to the dedicated web site, www.fhcconnect.org/engage-miami-fairhousing and completing an online fair housingsurvey, brief poll, and/or submitting a comment.
The AI is a comprehensive review and assessment of the jurisdiction’s laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practices, and how these affect the location, availability, and accessibility of housing. In addition, it analyzes how conditions, both private and public, may affect fair housing choice. The City anticipates issuing a draft AI document for FY2024-2028 for public review and comment sometime in the Spring of 2024.
The meeting sites are accessible to the disabled. In accordance with the Americans with Disability Act of 1990, persons needing special accommodations to participate in the meetings may contact HCD at 305-416-2080 no later than three (3) business days prior to the meeting date. TTY users may call via 711 (Florida Relay Service) no later than three (3) business days prior to the meeting. Questions can be addressed to communitydevelopment@miamigov.com.
