Submit your Non-Profit as a VISTA Program Site

Meet the Requirements

To be accepted as a VISTA Site/Partner with The City of Miami, your organization must:

• Be either a public, private, or faith-based nonprofit organization or a local or state agency.  

• Create a job description or VISTA Assignment Description (VAD).
• Select candidate with skill set that fits the needs of the site.
• Supervise the VISTA member in their year of service during the completion of their VAD assignment.

NOTE: AmeriCorps VISTA member are not employees. They are Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA).

AmeriCorps handles the applications, then forwards to us for interviews and placement.  You will be contacted by The City.

Complete the Timeline

The City will contact you once your application has been received. To prepare for your VISTA member, you will need to:

• Create the job description or VISTA Assignment Description (VAD), for it to be ready by the time of hire.
• Recruit potential candidates for your site.
• Designate a person who will sign and submit the timesheets.
• Prepare an On-Site Orientation Training for the VISTA member
