Moore Park Gymnasium Improvements Community Meeting - March 16, 2021

The City of Miami, District 5 Commissioner Jeffrey Watson, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Office of Capital Improvements (OCI) cordially invite you to a Virtual Community Meeting to share the plans for the Moore Park Gymnasium Improvements project!

Visit the Moore Park Gymnasium Improvements webpage!  Moore Park is in the City of Miami, District 5 and located at 765 NW 36th St, Miami, FL 33127. (NOTE: This meeting is not located at the park, it will take place via ZOOM. See above). 

Construction anticipated to start at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023!

The City of Miami, District 5 Commissioner Jeffrey Watson, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Office of Capital Improvements (OCI) cordially invite you to a Virtual Community Meeting to share the plans for the Moore Park Gymnasium Improvements project!

New gymnasium elements will include:

• New multi-purpose sports gymnasium (consisting of 20,000 additional square feet to the existing community center)
• Elevated 8 ft-wide running track (above the gymnasium area)
• 2 high school sized basketball courts (side-by-side)
• NBA sized basketball court, superimposed over the side-by-side high school sized courts
• Volleyball courts
• Bleachers and score boards around the perimeter of the gym 
• New restrooms
• Lightning detection for the building
• Lightning warning system
• Decorative elements (Public art in public places)

Site improvements will include:

• Modifications to the existing sidewalks and landscaping around the perimeter of the gym
• Parking to support the additional square footage (approximately 43 spaces)
