Welcome to the new City of Miami Service Management System (SMS), your gateway to efficient and convenient service scheduling. SMS is designed to streamline your interactions with city services, whether you visit us in person or access our services online. With the new SMS, you can easily book appointments, check-in for same day service, reduce waiting times, and ensure your needs are met promptly and efficiently.

What is this System For? 

SMS is a user-friendly system that helps the city manage same day service requests and appointments. Its purpose is to enhance the customer experience by minimizing wait times and providing a seamless booking process. Whether you need same-day service through the strategically located kiosks or use the online scheduling system to set up future appointments from the comfort of your home, this system is here to make your life easier.

SMS makes it easy for you to schedule services citywide, including Building, Planning & Zoning, Public Works, and Fire. You can use the system for most city services, with the exception of scheduling in-person appointments with City Officials. 

How the System Serves You 

The new City of Miami Services Scheduling System is designed with you in mind:  You can book appointments easily: 

  • In-person, through our on-site kiosks. 
  • Online, from the comfort of your home or office.  
  • Your waiting time is reduced, so you can get the help you need quickly.  
  • You receive timely updates and reminders about your appointments on your mobile device.  
  • Your overall experience with city service is improved and more efficient. 

How to Use the System

How the Kiosks Work

  • Check-in: 
    • When you arrive at your desire service department/floor, please use the kiosks to check in for your appointment or schedule a new one. 
  • Selection: 
    • From the on-screen options, choose one of the following:
      • I have an Appointment (Check-in for Appointments)
        • If selected, this option will open a screen that prompts you to enter the mobile number used to when scheduling the appointment. 
      • I have an E-Ticket (Check-in for E-Tickets)
        • If selected, this option will open a screen that prompts you to enter the e-ticket number received via text or email when scheduling the appointment. 
      • I do not have an Appointment or E-Ticket (Check in for walk-in assistance)
        • If selected, this option will open a screen that prompts you to select the appropriate department for your service needs (e.g., Building, Planning, Zoning, Resilience & Public Works, or Fire). 
  • Once your registration or check-in process is completed, you will receive the following notifications: 
    • A notification stating your service has been scheduled with relevant information.
    • A notification when it is your turn for service.

Kiosk Locations Across the MRC

 For your convenience, the City of Miami Services Management System (SMS) kiosks are strategically located across the MRC (Miami Riverside Center):  

  • 1st Floor: Unsafe Structures Division (Building Department)
    •  MRC Main Lobby  
  •  2nd Floor: Zoning Department
    •  Lobby  
  •  3rd Floor: Planning Department  
    •  Lobby 
  •  4th floor: Building Department 
    • Permit Counter Lobby
    •  Inspection Services Lobby
  • 8th floor: Resilience and Public Works  
    •  Lobby 
  •  10th Floor: Fire Department:  
    •  Lobby 

These kiosks provide a simple and efficient way to book and manage your appointments while you are on-site.  

How the Online Scheduling System Works

The Online Appointment Booking System allows you to manage your appointments from anywhere. Whether you are at home, at work, or on the go, you can make an appointment or request same day service at your convenience. 

  • Access the Online Appointment Booking System page
  • Selection: 
    • From the on-screen options, choose one of the following: 
      • Make an Appointment (this option will reserve your time for a future date for an in-person or virtual visit).
        • If selected, this option will open a screen that prompts you to select a department based on your service needs (e.g., Building, Fire, Planning, Resilience & Public Works, Zoning). 
        • Once the department is selected, the system will ask if you wish to schedule an In-Person Appointment or Virtual Appointment. 
        • After your selection, you will be prompted to select your desired service and specific appointment needs. 
        • Then you will select a date and time for your appointment, and press Next. 
        • Once your service is selected, you will have to complete the registration form and submit it. 
      • Request Service for Today (this option allows you to schedule same-day service).
        • Requesting a service is the process of getting an E-Ticket for service within the same day. This will save your position in line for same day service.
