Upcoming Firefighter/EMT Recruitment

The countdown has begun. Prepare now, apply fast! The recruitment will open on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and close April 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., or when 1,500 applications are received (whichever comes first). Applicants must meet the minimum requirements and are encouraged to complete the following steps to ensure they are ready once the application process begins:

  1. Complete a Job Interest Card – Sign up to be notified via email when the recruitment officially opens.
  2. Update your Government Jobs Profile – Make sure your application information, contact details, and attached documents are current.
  3. Gather required documents – Including a valid Florida Driver License (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, or Monroe County address) and State of Florida EMT or Paramedic certification.
  4. Review the “Become a Miami Firefighter” page – Familiarize yourself with the hiring process, minimum qualifications, and preparation tips.
  5. Stay connected and get the latest updates – Including hiring information and announcements.
