This project consists of two phases. Phase I was designed to provide immediate traffic calming in the area. It includes three interim speed humps on Charles Avenue.

Current Project Status (June 2026):

Traffic Calming Devices are completed.

Roadway Improvements are in design.

Project Scope:

Design and construction of roadway, stormwater infrastructure, and traffic calming improvements including roadway reconstruction, curbs and gutters, valley gutters, ADA ramps, speed humps, drainage system, signage and pavement markings, and landscaping. This project also includes a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) for the installation of an 8-inch watermain, water service connections, and fire hydrants.

Project Boundaries:

The project limits are bounded by Charles Avenue from Main Highway to South Douglas Road.

Road Closures:

Some road closures may occur during construction but will be sequenced appropriately to minimize disruption to the residents.
