District 4 Commissioner Manolo Reyes, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Office of Capital Improvements (OCI) proudly announce the groundbreaking of the West End Park enhancements project.

“West End Park is one of the oldest parks in my district. Located in the heart of the traditional Flagami neighborhood, it has served as a recreation area for several generations. With this project, we are going to expand the number of sports and recreational activities children, adults, and seniors will be able to enjoy in the park.

The project will include a new swimming pool and pool building, a children’s splash pad with water spray features, an artificial turf multi-use sports field, a ball field, a walking trail, outdoor exercise equipment, two tennis courts, two Pickleball Courts, and two basketball courts, along with a new paved plaza entry with a service entrance, landscaping and irrigation, a lighting warning system, and art in public places components.

The project cost is estimated at $16.8 million, partially funded by the Miami Forever Bond (MFB), along with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, Sanitary Sewer Bonds, Impact Fees, and General Funds.
