District 4 Commissioner Manolo Reyes invites residents to celebrate the installation of the First Sustainable Playground Replacement Project in a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Shenandoah Park.

“Improving the parks in my district has been one of my top priorities, not only because it is where the community connects, but it will also serve as a way to distract the children from all the electronic devices while exercising outdoors. With the completion of this project, I can say that 90 percent of the original Shenandoah Park has been renovated or rebuilt,” said Commissioner Manolo Reyes.

The new sustainable playground, shade structure, and pour-in-place rubberized surfacing were installed for children ages 2 and up. The Playground features include an animal theme, 3 bay swings to include infant and ADA swings, a triple tower with a ramp, multiple slides for children of all ages, a seesaw, a tunnel, ADA accessible carousel, seating, an interactive play panel to build sensory-motor skills, and more.

The estimated cost of the project is $881,457.89.
