The Tree Ordinance Advisory Committee (TOAC) was established to review the City's tree preservation and protection regulations of the City of Miami Code of Ordinances, and to provide recommendations informed by community input and technical expertise. The Committee is composed of members representing a range of perspectives, including environmental, business, and neighborhood interests.
To support this process, the City is partnering with the FSU Consensus Center, in collaboration with the Orthon Group, to design and facilitate public outreach and engagement. As an impartial third party, the Consensus Center is leading a series of community workshops across Miami's districts to gather resident input on potential tree ordinance revisions and broader tree canopy issues. An online public comment portal is also available for residents unable to attend in person.
Input gathered through the workshops and online portal will help inform the Committee's discussions and recommendations to the City.
