Mr. Atkison joined the Office of the City Attorney in January 2026. He currently serves in the Land Use & Transactions Division, where his practice primarily focuses on procurement and grants. His work includes providing legal guidance on procurement processes, public contracting, grant program compliance, and related legislative matters. Before joining the City, Mr. Atkison served with the Florida Department of Financial Services from 2023 to 2025. His responsibilities included managing procurement matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, administering statewide grant programs, developing administrative rules, and representing the Department in administrative hearings. His professional involvement includes service on The Florida Bar’s Government Advocacy Committee and prior service as Secretary of the Tallahassee Bar Association Young Lawyers Section for 2025.
