Tree Giveaways

Every year, the City of Miami hosts tree giveaways to help expand Miami's tree canopy and to increase access to shade as identified in the City’s Miami Forever Climate Ready: Extreme Heat Plan. One key objective of this plan is to maintain and increase tree canopy community-wide.

Giveaways are hosted across the City in each of the five districts to enable residents to easily pickup a tree and plant it on their property. Residents are encouraged to pre-register for tree giveaway events as they will be given priority on the day of the event. However, trees are distributed on a first come, first served basis. To receive a tree, you must have a residence within the City of Miami and provide proof of residency on the day of the event.
