City of Miami District 5 Senior Home Rehabilitation Program

This program’s goal is to support eligible District 5 senior homeowners that meet the required criteria, to assist them with necessary home repairs. The program is made possible via funding allocated from District 5’s Miami For Everyone funds.

The program is intended to provide Eligible Homeowners with a grant not to exceed $10,000, to reimburse for certain home repair and rehabilitation expenditures that allow such residents to maintain their home as safe and habitable, with a focus on bathroom accessibility. Funds are awarded on a lottery basis until fully expended or until the end period of funding availability, whichever occurs first.

Eligibility Criteria
*the applicant must be a District 5 homeowner that can demonstrate a valid Homestead Exemption with the Miami-Dade County Appraiser's Office for the current tax year.
*the Homeowner must be 65 years of age and up, residing within the boundaries of District 5.
*the funds awarded must be used for rehabilitation costs associated with the property that must be located within District 5.
*the applicant’s household income must be between 30% and 80% area median income, adjusted for family size.
