Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs.  In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: * ^†

1. DISCUSS AND PROPOSED RESOLUTION, ALLOCATING ONE MILLION AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00) IN AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT OF 2021 (“ARPA”) FUNDS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT’S NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMEOWNERSHIP FUNDING (“FUNDS”) APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2021, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. R-21-0352, IN ORDER TO DEVELOP THE SINGLE FAMILY AND TWIN HOMES, PROVIDED THAT THIS ALLOCATION IS APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE CITY’S ARPA CONSULTANT (“ARPA CONSULTANT APPROVAL”); AS SPECIFIED BELOW:

* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.

† † This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begins on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, and ends on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The proposed amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at the City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development office located at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2 Floor, Miami, FL 33132 (HCD Address).  Comments to amendment(s) must be submitted to: nancyromani@miamigov.com, Attn: Nancy Romani, and must be received no later than January 10, 2024. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. The meeting site is accessible to the handicapped. Requests for special accommodation may be directed to 305-416-2080 no later than three (3) business days prior to the public hearing date.
