The City of Miami Senior Rental Assistance program reopened for new paper applications from Monday, January 26, 2026 through Friday, February 20, 2026. This program provides up to $500 in rental assistance at Eligible Properties, based on need, to qualifying senior (age 62 and up) applicants who are renters in the City of Miami, are 50% AMI and below, and spend more than 30% of their income towards rental housing costs, for up to one year, for qualifying households. “Eligible Properties” are defined as rental properties located within City of Miami limits with no current code violations, fines, or outstanding fees owed to the City.
Program funding is limited and depends on each District Office’s available funds. If approved, assistance is paid directly to the applicant’s landlord on a monthly basis, for a 12-month period. If you are a current Section 8 client or live in Public Housing or in a Sec. 202 project, you are INELIGIBLE for this program.
