Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Tax Refund

On December 11, 2023, the City Commission reduced the City's Fiscal Year 2023-2024 millage rate from its original millage rate of 7.8078 mills to the new millage rate of 7.4599 mills. The reduced millage rate reduced the City's ad valorem tax revenue by approximately $25 Million dollars. Therefore, the City is reimbursing taxpayers their pro rata share of ad valorem taxes paid for Fiscal Year 2023-2024. 

If you received a check from the City, that is your pro rata share of the tax refund. You may deposit or cash the check within the timeframe provided on the check. If you have any additional questions, you may contact the City of Miami's Department of Finance at finance@miamigov.com.
