A Cooling Center is an air-conditioned public space that residents can visit to seek relief during extreme heat conditions. As the 2024 Heat Season begins to taper off, the Office of Resilience and Sustainability has partnered with the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Fire-Rescue Division of Emergency Management to soft launch three pilot Cooling Centers to help residents stay cool on extremely hot days.
