Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs.  In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: *

  1. Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing the allocation of Program Income from Home Investment Partnership (“HOME”) program funds generated from May 1, 2023, to July 31, 2023, in the amount of $44,564.93 and an additional amount of $5,944.33 of Recaptured funds, for a total amount of $50,509.26, as specified below:

Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing the transfer of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administration and Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids (HOPWA) program delivery funds as specified in Exhibit “A”, attached and incorporated, to provide HQS inspection services for the City’s Programs for 2023-24 and 2024-25 program years, subject to availability of funds, as described below:

* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.

† † This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begins on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, and ends on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The proposed amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at the City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development office located at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2 Floor, Miami, FL 33132 (HCD Address).  Comments to amendment(s) must be submitted to: nancyromani@miamigov.com, Attn: Nancy Romani, and must be received no later than September 27, 2023. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. The meeting site is accessible to the handicapped.
