Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs.  In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: *

  1. Discuss and proposed resolution approving an amendment to the established program policies and guidelines to the Senior Rental Assistance Program, authorizing the increase of benefits from $100.00 to $500.00 per month to eligible senior’s residents who paying more than half of their income toward rent; and to solicit new applications to expand the applicant pool.
  2. Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing the reallocating Emergency Rental Assistance Program (“ERAP 2”) funds in the amount of $55,571.03 from Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. to the City of Miami, Department of Housing and Community Development, Administrative Account.
  3. Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute a site access agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with the State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection (“FDEP”) to grant FDEP and its contractors’ access to City of Miami (“City”) property located at 6200 NW 17 Avenue (folio no. 01-3115-005-3291) (“Property”) to conduct an environmental assessment on the property at no cost to the City.

* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.

† † This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begins on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, and ends on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The proposed amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at the City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development office located at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2 Floor, Miami, FL 33132 (HCD Address).  Comments to amendment(s) must be submitted to: nancyromani@miamigov.com, Attn: Nancy Romani, and must be received no later than October 11, 2023. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. The meeting site is accessible to the handicapped. Requests for special accommodation may be directed to 305-416-2080 no later than three (3) business days prior to the public hearing date.
