This project consists of two phases. Phase I was designed to provide immediate traffic calming in the area. It includes three interim speed humps on Charles Avenue.

Current Project Status (June 2025):

Traffic Calming Devices are in Final Completion. R/W Improvements are in Design, RPW consultant assigned to project in April 2025.100% plans for City portion will be submitted once WASD plans reach 90%.

Project Scope:

Design and construction of roadway, stormwater infrastructure, and traffic calming improvements including roadway reconstruction, curbs and gutters, valley gutters, ADA ramps, speed humps, drainage system, signage and pavement markings, and landscaping.

Project Cost Estimate:

$ 4,630,148

Project Benefits and Impacts:

  • Number of properties impacted: Total = 100 (82 Residential and 18 Non-residential).
  • Total property value protected: $81M.

Project Boundaries:

The project limits are bounded by Charles Avenue from Main Highway to South Douglas Road.

Road Closures:

Some road closures may occur during construction but will be sequenced appropriately to minimize disruption to the residents.

Estimated Construction Timeline:
