Current Project Status (February 2025):
- Project includes roadway and drainage improvements to mitigate flooding at Clemente Park Neighborhood (refer to project scope below).
- Project’s Notice to proceed (NTP) issued in November 2024 to selected design consultant. Kick-off meeting to start design process held in December 2024.
- Topographic Survey and Geotechnical testing on-going.
- First design submittal at 15%-design (typical section package) to be presented in March 2025. This phase is on-going while the project moves forward up to 100% design completion, including several design reviews, analysis and briefings.
Current Project Status (November 2024):
City of Miami Procurement posted RFQ Solicitation RFQ#23-24-004 for Citywide civil engineering services for flood prevention projects in December 2023. The City selected a design consultant in August 2024 and is currently in the final steps to start the project’s design process in December 2024.

City of Miami Procurement posted RFQ Solicitation RFQ#23-24-004 for Citywide civil engineering services for flood prevention projects. Currently under the Cone of Silence (first stage in Procurement process)
Project Scope:
Design and construction of stormwater infrastructure and right-of-way improvements including new and upsized stormwater inlets and pipes, gravity well, exfiltration trenches, roadway reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, curbs and gutters, ADA ramps, and signage and pavement markings. This project may also include a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) for the installation of an 8-inch water main, water services, and fire hydrants.

Project Benefits and Impacts:
The project will help alleviate localized flooding experienced by the community.
- Number of properties impacted: Total = 393 (113 Residential and 280 Non-Residential)
- Total property value protected: $435M
Project Boundaries:
The project limits are bounded by NW 36th Street to the north, NW 30th Street to the south, NW 2nd Avenue to the west, and Miami Avenue to the east.

Road Closures:
Some road closures may occur during construction but will be sequenced appropriately to minimize disruption to the residents.
Estimated Construction Timeline:
- Estimated Construction Start: Winter 2027
- Estimated Construction End: Summer 2028
