Little Haiti Revitalization Trust Scholarship Application

The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust Scholarship Program supports residents of Little Haiti in achieving their educational goals by providing direct financial assistance that reduces barriers to higher education and vocational training.

Provides scholarships of $2,500 per student to help cover educational costs such as tuition, books, supplies, technology, living expenses, and transportation.

Awards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

Scholarships are non-reimbursable and paid directly to students upon verification of enrollment.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Little Haiti for at least 24 months.
  • Be a high school graduate or hold an equivalent diploma.
  • Be accepted into an accredited college, university, or vocational/trade school.
  • Be registered for the upcoming semester.

First-time applicants must meet the minimum GPA requirement (to be determined by the scholarship committee).

Renewal applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Scholarship support is limited to a maximum of two years per student, subject to annual review.

Completed applications will be reviewed by the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust team. Awards will be approved based on verification of basic eligibility requirements.

Scholarship funds will be disbursed only after verification of enrollment and academic progress. Students must submit:

  • Proof of enrollment for the semester, and
  • A midterm progress report or official first-semester grades (as applicable).

Funds will be released once documentation is received and reviewed by the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust team.

 

1. Collect the following Documents:

  • Official high school transcript or GED certificate
  • Letter of acceptance from your educational institution
  • Proof of college enrollment and tuition payment with minimum 12 credit hours OR proof of enrollment and tuition payment to trade school program
  • Proof of Little Haiti residency (utility bill, lease, driver’s license, high school registration form, etc.)
  • Copy of ID or driver’s license
  • Proof of guardianship (birth certificate or legal document) – If under 18 years of age
